To ensure the best performance from the LeMond® RevMaster™ Sport we recommend following the following preventive maintenance routine. For disassembly and assembly instructions please go to: RevMaster Sport Owner’s Manual Page - Parts Removal and Replacement.
DAILY
- Wipe down the LeMond® RevMaster™ Sport after each use to remove sweat and moisture. Use soap and water, or a diluted non-abrasive cleaner solution. Rinse to remove detergent residue and then dry.
- If your bikes are used frequently in group exercise sessions, inspect for loose pedals prior to starting any class. Tighten any loose pedals.
WEEKLY
- Inspect the brake pad for excessive wear or dryness. If necessary, lubricate the leather brake pad with 3-N-ONE® oil. If the sponge padding is showing through the brake pad, replace the brake pad.
- Wipe down the flywheel with WD-40®. This product will clean the surface of the flywheel and provide a protective barrier against moisture.
MONTHLY
- Inspect the belt for correct alignment and tension. A properly tensioned belt will not slip when pedaling the bike standing up. Check the belt for excessive wear. Replace any belt that is cracked, frayed, or otherwise non-uniform.
- Inspect the bottom bracket assembly for looseness. The left bearing cup is adjustable, and over time may loosen. With a small rubber mallet, tap on the crank bolt on both sides If you see side to side movement you must remove the crank arm(s) and properly adjust the bearing cup(s).
If you experience any problems, contact our Customer Service Department at (425)482-6773 ext 107 or 109.

- Apply grease to the handle threads.

- Diluted household cleaner for the frame and covers
- 3-N-ONE® oil for the brake pad – do not use silicone-based lubricants
- Locktite® 242 (blue thread lock) for the crank bolts and bearing cups
- Multipurpose grease for the handle threads, pedal threads, and belt tension screw
Yes – the cranks have a standard 9/16” thread pattern that will accept after market pedals.
Any time you tighten a loose crank bolt you need to remove the crank bolt, apply Loctite® 242 on the crank bolt threads, reinstall, and tighten to the appropriate torque (22 to 25 ft-lbs).
If the crank bolts continue to loosen up you need to replace the crank arm. The steel crank arm is made of a slightly softer material than the hardened steel spindle and if the bike is continued to be ridden with loose crank bolts the crank arm will eventually “egg out” due to the excessive play between the crank arm and spindle.

The RevMaster Sport is perhaps the simplest of all indoor cycling bikes to work on. We can easily talk anybody through any maintenance or repair over the phone. If that doesn’t work, we have exploded diagrams, written instructions, service videos and service DVDs.
If you would like someone else to work on your bike you can schedule an on-site service call with your Life Fitness service technician.
We also have a network of qualified bike shops throughout the country that we can refer you to schedule on-site service.
